TUESDAY'S TREASURE

I am sharing something unusual today, do you know what these are ? Banana shaped cakes.  Yes they really are, only in Japan, hahaha.  As I have mentioned in the past I work for a Japanese company and  visitors bring us goodies all the time. This is the first time we have ever been given these cakes. The outside is like sponge cake and the inside is filled with a caramel/banana flavoured creamy substance. They were all individually packed in little banana shaped plastic cotainers and then in plastic wrap.

Oishii, Oishii (yummy in Japanese), I hope we have these again, they are very very delicious.

If you want to see who else is sharing their treasure today pop on over to The House On The Side Of The Hill.  Thank you Mel for hosting Tuesday Treasures.

TUESDAY'S TREASURE

I am so happy and excited about my treasure to share today. Look what the postie left in my mail box yesterday. I was very surprised as I wasn't waiting on any craft purchases and I haven't been in any swaps so who was sending me a parcel !!

My lovely blogging friend Anthea at Hibiscus Stitches  sent me a surprise package, this is the first time someone has sent me a surprise package and I was emotional with tears in my eyes upon opening the parcel, a lovely card with "surprise" inside and these gorgeous "gumboots" 4 fat quarters.

Anthea and I were in a swap earlier this year and since then we have been emailing regularly. Thank you so much Anthea for this lovely thoughful gift.

Do you have a Tuesday Treasure to share today, pop on over to Mel's at The House on The Side of The Hill and link up.

TRIP TO SPOTLIGHT

This is my little haul from spotlight Saturday week ago. I went in looking for a backing fabric to use on baby bibs which I did buy - I ended up getting some white polar fleece which is really nice and soft. I also came home with these lovelies. LOL
Firstly a gorgeous baby quilt panel, I didn't know you could buy these !! AND at a bargain price of $15/panel, if you look closely you can see it is already quilted so all I have to do is put some binding around the edge. They had some other gorgeous panels there also at $40/panel.

This sweet yellow and white check with clouds and flying machines will be ideal for some bibs and
burp cloths.

I also bought these two gorgeous pieces for bibs and burp cloths however I am thinking the white with the Sea Horses would be lovely for little girls nightie or Jammies. The lady bug one is so cute and it is a plisse.

I just couldn't resist this lovely piece with cute little Japanese dolls wearing Kimonos.  This is going in my stash - NOT for baby bibs. It is a beautiful thick woven fabric, and of course the RED said "take me home" hahaha.

These are also going in my stash, one piece with wine bottles and cork screws and the other piece has corks all over it.

AND this was the main reason for my trip to Spotlight, to buy some of this gorgeous fabric -  "gumboots".......

Happy Monday everyone :-)

MUG HUGS

I have been making some Mug hugs to add to Birthday gifts, Christmas pressies and swaps. Remember the Buttons Buttons Buttons Post here .  I purchased the bulk of the buttons to put on the Mug Hugs.

I gave this one to my daughter Kate, she ALWAYS has the most beautiful smile on her face.

This is I made for my Aunty, she had a trip to England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland 2 years ago.

This one is to add to a Birthday gift for my husbands Aunty.

They are very quick and easy to knit up and ideal for me to knit in the car travelling home at night.
