GIFTS FROM POLAND

I have a great friend, Anna, we have worked together for over 15 years, although Anna was born in Australia her parents were Polish and were in a camp in Germany and after the war they were given a choice to live in either Poland, Germany, America or Australia and they chose Australia. Anna has just been visiting relatives in Poland for 3 weeks and came back to work today. These are the wonderful gifts she brought back for me.

This is a neck wrap, it's actually a long piece of fabric and you scrunch it up and put it around your neck twice like a necklace and then twist it.

These are Polish slippers, of course with my favourite colour of red, they are so comfy and will be lovely around the house in winter.

Believe it or not this is a bracelet, Anna said everyone was wearing them in Poland. It's made of material and the ball pieces feel like light pieces of timber.

This is a souvenir from "Zakopane" in poland, Anna bought her for me because she has blonde hair....

This is the third time in the past 6 years Anna has visited Poland and I have quite a lot of souvenirs from Poland now.

QUILTERS DAY SWAP

I am now able to show you photos of the gifts I sent to my swap partner, Katherine.

I mailed these gifts to Katherine yesterday and she received them today. Katherine wanted something in pastel colours so I made a pin cushion in pastel blue and I also made a jewellery pouch in lemon and green.

QUILTERS DAY SWAP

I joined in Heidi's "Quilters Day Swap", thankyou Heidi, I thoroughly enjoyed participating in my first secret swap. Tuesday night when I arrived home from work a wonderful surprise greeted me from Anthea . My favourite colour is RED which I am sure you will have no trouble in noticing as Anthea wrapped my pressie in RED paper and included a gorgeous post card where she lives, Mandurah WA, which is of course on the other side of our beautilful country to where I live, somewhere I would like to visit one day when we are travelling the life of "grey nomads" (I will never be a "GREY" nomad, maybe a "BLONDE" one though LOL.....

AND inside the red paper is this gorgeous RED craft projects bag along with a RED matching pin cushion and RED needle book, I LOVE the colours and fabric so much, something I would have chosen myself. It is all made so beautifully, I was very surprised and happy and I felt like it was my Birthday when I opened the gift.

The bag is fully lined and has pockets on the outside to fill with bits and bobs.

The pin cushion is so cute, Anthea has put the fabric of a pin cushion in the centre.

The needle book is also cute with pockets on the inside as well for threads and needles.

I love everything you have made for me Anthea, thankyou so much.

MORNING FOG IN BRISBANE

The drive into work this morning was very eery. The traffic was very slow from The Logan River and the fog so thick. (We drive 120klms each way to work and home again 5 days a week)  We couldn't even see the river this morning when crossing The Captain Cook Bridge. I can't even show you photos of what I saw out of my office window this morning, I arrived at 6.15am and could only see cloud/fog out of my window on the 35th floor of the Riverside Centre, after 1/2 an hour I took these photos where you can just make out some of the buildings.

I took this photo of the river and you can only just make out the little ferries down on the water. I used the flash on my camera, that is the light you can see in the photo as it was reflecting in the window.

I went for walk outside at 8am and back to the office at 8.40am, it was very hot and humid outside.

Have a great Monday.

Cheers

TUESDAY TREASURES

I am joining Mel at The House on the Side of the Hill for Tuesday Treasures and today I would like to share a few photos I took at a concert I went to on Friday 23rd March at The Brisbane Entertainment Centre - Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. We booked the tickets September 2011 and we were so excited waiting for the concert to arrive and "boom" it was here and now gone. It was a wonderful night, they did a fantastic concert. I took LOTS of photos however Tim and Faith NEVER stopped moving the whole concert it was difficult getting really good clear photos.

Pop on over and see who else is playing Tuesday Treasures today.

Cheers
