PRESSIE FROM JAPAN

I had a lovely surprise package waiting for me when I arrived home from work last night.  Last year I was busy making many baby items to send to Tokyo to a lovely young lady who had a gorgeous baby girl named Hibiki born on 8 December 2012.  It is tradition in Japan to give a gift on behalf of the baby to the people who give baby gifts. I opened the parcel and inside was a lovely wrapped gift box.

Inside was 2 gorgeous tin containers with fresh green tea leaves and also two of the most gorgeous tea cups I have ever seen.

I took a photo looking into the cups so you can see what I can see, do you see the heart shape?

On Sunday I will open the tea cans and make myself a lovely cup of fresh green tea.

FABRIC AND DRESSES

The Lovely Corrie of RETROMUMMY sent me these fabrics to make dresses for "Dress a girl around the World", they are just gorgeous, most I can use to make dresses and some I will use to make bias binding so none of it will go wasted.

These 3 dresses already made were also included with the fabric.

My Mum sent me a bag of fabric as well, now these fabrics are over 20 years old, she bought them to make dresses for my girls, some of it was used and some are left over bits that I can mix and match and make into dresses.

These 3 fabrics I will use to make Laundry bags for Aussie Hero Quilts and Laundry bags.

These seven dresses were made by a lady who works with my daughter to send off to "Dress a girl around the World"

Sunday I was busy washing and ironing all of the fabric in ready to be cut out.

DRESS A GIRL

I made 6 girls dresses on the weekend.  I am very happy with the result, they are quick and easy to make. I made them using the pattern supplied. I have now enlarged and decreased the size of the pattern so I can make some different sizes.

I just need to add pockets to a few and they are all ready to post off.

I have 3 more cut out ready for sewing, I will need to cut out more, maybe tonight after dinner........

DRESS A GIRL AROUND THE WORLD

I went into Spotlight Tuesday of last week to buy some fabric to make some girls dresses, I was excited to find a table full of their craft fabrics reduced to $4/mtr.  I bought enough of 3 different fabrics to make 2 dresses from each. I washed and ironed the fabric on Wednesday and on Thursday morning I cut out 9 dresses. When I get the chance to just sit and sew for a few hours they are ready to go. It's a very simple easy style so I should be able to sew them up fairly quickly. I am really excited about this project.

Some baby gifts for a gorgeous newborn baby boy, they are for my very good friends new little grand baby.
