KATE'S WEDDING 30 APRIL 2016

This BLOG post has been a long time coming so before 2016 ends I want to BLOG about our daughter's Wedding, just warning you this post will be photo heavy.........

It was the Wedding of the year, Kate organised 90% of her Wedding, she likes to be in control, like her Mother !!! LOL..... I had to practically beg her to give me some things to organise.... Kate was the happiest bride I have ever seen, absolutley nothing fazed her on the day.  The week leading up to the Wedding we had LOTS of rain, the morning of the Wedding we had heavy down pours but we all remained happy.  The Wedding ceremoney was in a Chapel so we knew we wouldn't get wet.  The rain stopped for us to have photos before the ceremony and for everyone to enter the Chapel.  During the ceremony it poured down and looked and sounded so beautiful, to me it was a sign of our loved ones in Heaven raining tears of joy.....  Then after the ceremony the rain stopped for them to have the most beautiful photos taken.......  Kate and Josh started dating when Kate was in Grade 12, she was just 17 and Josh was 21, now 11 years later they have become husband and wife so NOTHING was going to spoil the day.........

Kate having her hair done and enjoying a champagne.  Kate doesn't drink champagne, this is the first time ever I have seen Kate drink champagne.....

Kate always has this most beautiful smile on her face and her Wedding day was so exception.

Kate and I ready for the big day.

MY VINTAGE KITCHEN

My Vintage Kitchen was a 2015 BOM by Jenny of ELEFANTZ.. I managed to stitch each block last year however I only sewed it all together recently.  This is my "My Vintage Kitchen" completed.

I just love it hanging in my kitchen. I replaced it this morning for the next few weeks with this lovely
mini quilt hanging which I received in a "Christmas In July" swap last year.

I have joined the "No Fuss Swappers" for the last 3 swaps which have been lots of fun, also they are an easy swap to participate in.  The latest is the "Bah Humbug" swap, I received my parcel quite early this morning, I have to wait 16 sleeps till I can open it.....
I love the fabric wrapping, thank you Nor....

I have posted a parcel to my partner Anthea, I can't show you the goodies I sent to Anthea just yet as she is, quite coincidentally a Bloggy friend and reads my posts.   I will put photos up after14th December when Anthea has opened her parcel.

PROJECT 48 QUIILT BLOCKS - A LITTLE CATCH UP

Over the past few weeks I have been doing some catch up sewing on my P48Quilt Blocks in between doing some secret Christmas sewing for two Christmas swaps.
This is Block 22, this block took me 9 hours of sewing, unpicking and sewing and that's not counting the cutting out as I had precut a lot of the blocks waiting for spare time to sew them. I didn't enjoy making this block however I very happy with the completed block.

                                                                         Block 23

Block 24, this one was very challenging and also took me a long time to complete, I needed to watch a tutorial (a couple of times ) to learn how to sew the white pieces into the block......

Block 25, block piecing and some hand applique.

                                                                             Block 26

                                                                           Block 27

Block 28, this is a needle turn applique block which took me quite a few hours to complete, there are 3 petals to each flower. My fingers were cramped at completion.

                                                                        Block 29

Block 30, this took me a little bit of time, I'm not real happy with this block but I'm not doing it again.

Block 33, I enjoyed doing this block. Yes you read correctly, I am missing blocks 31 and 32 which I still need to do.

Block 34, this is another needle turn applique block as well, I really suck at it, this block took me several hours to applique and if you look closely I only have a few of the leaf ends in points.  I know you will be shuddering when looking at this Michelle. It's my first ever attempt at needle turn applique and I looked at a LOT of tutorials first but I'm still bad at it.  I am NOT including this block into the quilt however I will hang onto it.  I would like to do more needle point applique (maybe I need a few lessons from a professional).  I can look at this in the future to see how far I'm come - fingers crossed anyway.....

Block 35...... I still have to catch up from here to block 41 which came out last Friday.

I hope you're all enjoying the weekend and the weather - looks like we're into summer now.

Cheers
