MY LATEST STITCHERY PROJECT

These little Russian Nesting Dolls are so cute, I found them over at "Four Wise Monkey's" blog, thankyou Rachel for this free pattern. I have enlarged the pattern in a few different sizes, these will make lovely gifts. I traced 7 and have stitched 2-1/1 so far, I will add more photos when they are stuffed and sewn.

FABRIC, FABRIC AND MORE FABRIC

Look what greeted me this morning when I went to the Post Box, ummmm I have been very excited all day looooong. This is the first time I have ordered material over the internet and from ovoerseas (America), I purchased these lovelies from the "Fat Quarter Shop". This is a photo of them all jammed into a bag to take carry home.

I just LOVE these fabrics from Robyn Pandolph "Beach House" collection.

Some more, I went a bit silly I guess, I wanted to make it worth while seeing I was paying the postage from the US.

AND some more.
I also purchased this gorgeous Pincushion pattern.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY "MISS KATE"

WOOHOO today is my gorgeous Kate's 22nd Birthday. I went and had lunch with her and her work mates. Kate and her partner came down to the Tweed last weekend and we took them out to dinner and we gave her a beautiful "daughter" card and some money. I was a surprise at her Birthday lunch today so I went with a bag full of goodies for her to open as well. This is one of the pressies I gave her today - one of the "CHEEKI" dolls, in a earlier post.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL, don't ever lose that gorgeous smile, you are an amazing daughter, I love you further than "to the moon and back"

Love always
Mum xxxx

CHRISTMAS 2010 STASH

I started these about 4 years ago, I had made the bodies and the wings, so they just needed to be dressed and have a face and some hair. They are now in the pressie box of goodies for friends this Christmas, they are little fairies to hang on the Christmas tree.

EMBROIDERY - TABLE CLOTHS

As I have mentioned previously I travel from Tweed Heads (home) to Brisbane CBD to work Mon-Fri, I like to fill in the time with knitting coat hanger covers and scarves and also embroider. Some years back I won a few linen table cloths on e-bay, they had been started so I unpicked the old thread, chose my own colours and this first one I finished in December 2009. The pattern instructions were with it however I didn't like the colour threads so I chose my own from my stash. The pattern said long and short satin stitch for the flowers however it just wasn't working for me so after playing around a bit I decided the filled in stem stitch was the go with a lighter colour in the center. What do you think?

I finished this one last week, it didn't come with a pattern instructions so I chose my own colours from my stash once again, this one had a few old colour spots on it so I soaked them both in Nappy San (actually it was Aldi's brand) for a couple of hours yesterday and hung them in the sun and they look brand new. These two will be put away for when we retire and buy our camper van and travel this beautiful country of ours.

FANTAZIA FABRICLAND and FANTAZIA PATCHWORK

WOW Ladies you will love this place, I am so lucky to be living just 5 minutes drive from "FANTAZIA FABRICLAND and FANTAZIA PATCHWORK", they are just amazing and have
LOTS of fabrics, patchwork fabrics, beads, laces, ribbons, patterns, fringing, the list goes on and on and on........ I hope you can read the article below, I scanned it from our local paper last weekend. There is EVERYTHING you can imagine. If you live within an hour or so drive, take a day trip to beautiful Tweed Heads, you will be amazed and happy with your purchases. I have been a customer of FANTAZIA FABRICLAND for many years where you will find Kitty, she opened the PATCHWORK shop last year and that is where you will find Sandra (Kitty's daughter). There is hundreds of fabrics and the prices are soooo reasonable, 90% of the patchwork fabrics are A$11.00/mtr so if you purchase 1/2mtr and cut in half you have a FAT 1/4 for A$2.75.

WET WET WET

It's very wet in Brisbane, we've had rain for two days now, it is very welcoming BUT does create havoc. My husband and I travel from Tweed Heads to Brisbane Mon-Fri for work and this morning it poured rain all the way, there was a 5 car accident just South of Yatala with one car on it's roof in the culvert between the North and South bound lanes. Of course you guessed it - tradies !!! They are morons on the road, in all the accidents we see each way EVERY other day, 8 out of 10 would be tradies, they just cannot stay in one lane and drive, they weave in and out of the traffic causing havoc.
