NEW BABY IN THE FAMILY

My niece had a baby boy, Charlie born on 11 August, arriving 5 weeks early at 4lbs 3 ozs.  Charlie spent the first couple of weeks of his life in hospital. These are the gifts I made for Charlie. I bought a gorgeous white thick large towel from Aldi some time back and sewed a piece of fabric across both ends.

I made 4 burp cloths with some baby print fabric on one side and towelling on the other side.

I started knitting and crocheting as soon as I knew our niece was pregnant. I knitted two cardy's, crocheted some mittens and some bootees and a beanie, however as Charlie arrived a little early these
things were quite large for him.

I made a little cot quilt which was made from a quilt panel. This was quick and easy to do.  I can make him a patch work quilt when he's a little older.

After Charlie was born premmie, I made these two very tiny beanies. They were so small they fit
over an orange. They were so cute.

This is little Charlie when he was born.

Little Charlie with his Dad parading the cardy and bootees I made form him, oh yes they are quite large on him.

This is little Charlie at 9-1/2 weeks, he is growing nicely and yay the bootees fit.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Cheers

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2016

I'm a little late in posting my Birthday Blog Post, my Birthday was Thursday 22nd September, I had a wonderful day, my very good friend made me this wonderful BIG cupcake Birthday cake which was made of Red Velvet.  Ummmmm so delicious.

The same friend made us a delicious morning tea of fresh homemade scones and a lovely lemon teacake.

We then went out to lunch and enjoyed a couple of cocktails.

These are some of my Birthday goodies from family and friends.

My very good friend, Vicki (yes the same one that made my Birthday cake) gave me a really lovely necklace of a "digger's hat" - she knows I love making laundry bags and quilts for the ADF, also a lovely pair of Silver sixpence earrings of my birth year.

My lovely Bloggy friend Anthea of Hisbicus Stitches and I did a Birthday swap this year, Anthea made me this gorgeous craft bag with lots of goodies to go with it.

Here is a better look of the bag by itself..

Anthea also included a matching Needle Keeper and a Pin Cushion.  I have the perfect use for my new bag and extras - I am going to use it to hold my stitching when we go tripping in our caravan, now to wait for the caravan to arrive which is on order.  Anthea also gave me these lovely Kate Spain fabrics.

We went to dinner with family and friends, we went to The Rustic Olive at Redcliffe. It certainly lived up to everything I had heard out it.  Absolutely wonderful Italian food, good size portions too..
I had Scallopini, I love veal and didn't want to eat pasta that late.

Stephen and Kate had the Entrée size and they said it was so filling.

Vicki and I had 2 bottles of this beautiful Champagne, G H MUMM........

It was a wonderful Birthday and now it's all over for another year........
