EMBROIDERY - TABLE CLOTHS

As I have mentioned previously I travel from Tweed Heads (home) to Brisbane CBD to work Mon-Fri, I like to fill in the time with knitting coat hanger covers and scarves and also embroider. Some years back I won a few linen table cloths on e-bay, they had been started so I unpicked the old thread, chose my own colours and this first one I finished in December 2009. The pattern instructions were with it however I didn't like the colour threads so I chose my own from my stash. The pattern said long and short satin stitch for the flowers however it just wasn't working for me so after playing around a bit I decided the filled in stem stitch was the go with a lighter colour in the center. What do you think?

I finished this one last week, it didn't come with a pattern instructions so I chose my own colours from my stash once again, this one had a few old colour spots on it so I soaked them both in Nappy San (actually it was Aldi's brand) for a couple of hours yesterday and hung them in the sun and they look brand new. These two will be put away for when we retire and buy our camper van and travel this beautiful country of ours.

Cheers
Kaylee
