HERVEY BAY FINDS

We recently did a caravan trip (I will make this another post) to Hervey Bay,Queensland for 2 weeks. These are some of my lovely purchases.

I found the "Dew Drop In" Patchwork and Quilt shop on our last day in Hervey Bay - sigh... There was too much to choose from however my hubby spied a Rosalie Quinlan BOM "Love Is", 10 packets and he talked me into purchasing it.  I was "HOPING" the designs were pre printed onto the fabric, but no -sigh.....  Such a great find, it was marked down to $120, the set includes 9 blocks with all fabric.

I will have to open all packs and trace the pattern blocks ready for embroidery, I will do this in the next few days as we are planning another short adventure in our van. They will be great to take along in the van to stitch.

I also purchased this piece of backing fabric at a great price of $13.99/mtr so I purchased 2 mtrs which will be plenty for a quilt and some left overs too.  I also purcahsed some tape with "inch" markings in white and off white.

I have wanted to buy a couple of English china teacup, saucer and plates for those "special" occasions. I found this little beauty at the Vinnies store for a great price.  It's a Shelley "Crochet" design, isn't it pretty........ I just love the shape of the cup.

This saucer came from Vinnies as well - can you believe for $1.50, there were 3, my friend and I bought one each and left the other one on the shelf.  It's by Johnson Bros called The Ice House (The Friendly Village).  Initially I bought it to put in my craft room to put pins in, however it's in really great condition so I am going to see if I can possibly buy a teacup to suit.

This beauty came from the Antique shop and was possibly too expensive, I didn't have my glasses on - rookie error which I have now learnt my lesson, it was displayed as a set in a china cabinet in the Antique shop, both have roses however when we arrived home and I took it out of the van to wash I noticed the blue on the teacup is not evident on the saucer and plate.  I turned each piece over and found the teacup to be Queen Anne "Cherie" which is ever so gorgeous, the saucer and plate are Delphine China.....I was less than impressed to say the least.....

I also purchased this lovely cake stand from the Antique Shop, it is slightly elevated with three little nipple stands.  I have a few tall cake stands but this one will fit perfectly in my Tupperware carry cake container.

My friend and I had a lovely time perusing Vinnies and the Antique Shop,.

Cheers
Kaylee
