TUESDAY TREASURES

This week's Tuesday Treasures I would like to share what I made last week, I knitted these for two babies I know will be arriving in the next 5-6 months, the first is due early December and you wonder why I have knitted bootees, well this baby is being born in Tokyo and it will be the middle of winter in Tokyo in December so I know they will keep this special little baby warm.  The second is due early January in Brisbane and therefore will not need bootees till he/she is a few months old so the third photo of bootees is for this baby as they are larger. The first two pairs are very small only measuring about 5cms (2 inches) in length. The bear is so cuddly and soft, I will be making more of these after showing it to a friend (my age, we went to school together) and Kate and Rebecca (my two gorgeous daughters, aged 24 and 1 day off turning 20) and all three want one of these bears, LOL can you believe it.....  Well my poor fingers and hands are going to be sore after all this knitting :-)

Both of these are free Lincraft patterns which I downloaded from their web site.

Do you have something to share for Tuesday Treasures ? Pop on over to The House on the Side of the Hill hosted by the lovely Mel and see who else is playing today.

PATTERN BOOKS

I have been shopping on line again, this time at the Book Depository in the UK, I love that shop, they have great books at great prices.
I have been "into" knitting recently and as I know 2 young ladies having babies I am knitting "baby" things. Firstly I saw this gorgeous book of knitted bears, the bear is a basic bear pattern for all the projects in the book with different clothing and accesories. There are 20 different ones in the book.
Here are some of them.

This one is just gorgeous, I think I may do this one for myself :-)

The Second book I purchased is to make knitted mug rugs. So of course I had to buy buttons to put on the mug rugs, as usual there are soooo many to choose from, I bought many, many packets, some from the UK and some from Australia. I will post about them when they arrive. Here are some of the  patterns in the book.

TUESDAY TREASURES

Well yes, I must admit I am a fabric addict, LOL. I have been shopping at The Fat Quarter Shop AGAIN, and these are my latest purcahses.

Some lovely coffee fabrics.

I loved this cream on cream which will go well with the fabrics above.

These caught my eye :-)

AND some childrens fabrics, I bought these ones for backing to cot panels which I forgot
to photograph..... Anyway I'm sure you can guess the front panel is a Bear fireman...

How cute is this fabric which is just gorgeous and ideal for little boys PJ's

I am joining Tuesday Treasures over at The House On The Side Of The Hill hosted by the lovely Melody.

MELODY'S PENNY RUG

Some weeks back I started this Penny Rug "Home Sweet Home", a free BOM by Melody at The House on the Side of the Hill. This is my progress so far. I have really enjoyed doing this project, I need to add some embroidery stitching to some parts later on.  I just wanted to start and get all the main parts done first though.

I loved looking through my button stash and sewing them on this tree.

Can you see the little bell on the school house ?

This is the last one I did on the weekend and I need to add some autumn leaves to the tree and also add two small patchwork quilts to the clothes line. Can you see the little owl up in the tree?

I noticed this morning that Melody has added part 6 on her BLOG so I am glad I am mostly up to date so far.

STATE OF ORIGIN GAME 3

WOOHOO bring on game 3 and series 7 for QUEENSLAND, I am so excited about the game tonight and one proud and excited QUEENSLANDER, my daughter Kate sent me a photo at 10.30am of her with Bill Slater, the MAROONS were kicking ball at the Botanical Gardens so I downed my coffee and grabbed my camera, mobile, permanent marker and headed to the gardens only to find they had left, boohoo :-(   I knew they were staying at Royal On the Park (opposite the gardens) as they do every year they are playing in Brisbane. So I went over to the Hotel and walked through the lobby and saw "Gilly" (Trevor Gillmeister) and asked where the boys were, he was very obliging and I waited outside the room and as each one came out I asked for a photo and an autograph on my Jersey. They were all so sweet and very obliging. As you can see in my photos I am a little excited and I haven't taken that smile off my face alllll day, I was so excited I couldn't even eat any lunch today LOL !!!

So, firstly we have Kaylee with Cameron Smith and Nate Miles

                                         with Sam Thaiday,

                                          with Corey Parker

                                        with JT (Jonathon Thurston)

with Ashley Harrison and Ben Hannant

                                                     Kate and Billy Slater

So now in 4 hours the BIG kick off, GO MAROONS, QUEENSLANDER, QUEENSLANDER.

Have a great night everyone.

GIVE AWAY BOOKS

Two weeks ago Anthea of Hibiscus Stitches had a giveaway of some craft books. I received this lovely parcel in the mail yesterday. I was most surprised as I was only expecting the one "Patchwork and Stitching" book however when I opened the packet I found not 1 but 2 books AND a fat quarter of lovely red on red tone fabric. How lucky am I !!!

The photo of the fabric isn't true to life colour, the leaves in the photo look a little yellow but they are in fact red.  Thank you so much Anthea, I love it.
