APRON FINISH

A dear friend of mine loves cats and her favourite colour is blue, earlier this year when I was having a fabric buying frenzie I came across this gorgeous blue fabric with cats and thought how perfect it would be to make something for my friend for Christmas, I only bought 1/2 metre having no idea what I would use it for.  A few weeks ago a little voice in my head said make an apron, I didn't use a pattern and had no idea of sizing etc.  It wouldn't have been long enough as my friend towers over me which wouldn't be hard as I'm only like 5ft, Anna is about 5ft 10in - 5ft 11in, so I cut the fabric in half and put a piece of black quilters muslin in the middle and also used black for the band and ties.  I wanted to put a pocket on the apron so I cut a strip down the side of the fabric about 3 inches wide and made a striped pocket using the black and the cat fabric.  I am really happy with the finished apron, I am giving it to Anna for Christmas, I hope she likes it. I used the whole 1/2 metre of fabric, NO scraps over, very happy.

Sorry, this photo is a little blurry.

Cheers

  3. Wow Kaylee that's fantastic, love the fabric! You are so clever to have put it together without a pattern or tutorial, and no leftovers either... Well Done!
