TUESDAY TREASURES

I am not sure if this item comes under the category of "Tuesday Treasures" however I did want to share my latest acquisition for my craft room. Last year for my Birthday, which is in September, a very long time friend of mine gave me a Lincraft voucher and I wanted to purchase myself a new GOOD pair of material scissors sooooo I have been waiting for Lincraft to have a 30% off sale. A few weeks back at last Lincraft had a 30% off store wide sale so I purchased myself these lovely mundial scissors, they were $39.99 and I only paid $27.99, very happy with my purchase...................

I wonder who else is sharing in Tuesday Treasures, pop on over to Melody's at The House on the Side of the Hill and take a peek.

WEEKEND PROGRESS

I came up with an idea for some gifts to go in my Christmas stash basket. So firstly I drafted out my pattern onto this PVC......

and then I cut out the fabric for FIVE of these gifts. Does anyone have some tips for me to sew circles? I find it very difficult and am not very good at it.......
Curiours!!! I will show photos of the finished items in due course.

I wanted to find myself a project when watching tele, Kate my eldest daughter needs some hand towels in the kitchen so I cut a couple of new tea towels in half and zig zagged the top edge and crocheted them Saturday night. AND so I don't get into trouble from Rebecca, the youngest daughter I also cut another in half and will crochet the tops this week, these will be for her Glory Box, I don't know if this is old fashioned these days BUT I think it's important for young ones to have their Glory Boxes. Their Grandmother (my Mum) has been giving them small items along with their Birthday and Christmas pressies for their Glory Box for some years now and I buy things for them from time to time also. A bit different from my day when I would have towels, sheets etc on layby and each payday would pay something off them. This is something I tried to encourage my girls to do BUT they always find something else to spend their money on.

Happy Monday everyone

TWEED HEADS CRAFT SHOW

A few weeks back I noticed signs around my local area for a craft show to be held at the Tweed Heads Council Building on Fri 15th and Sat 16th July. The last time I went to this craft show was several years back and it was just wonderful and I spent a lot of money however I was quite disappointed this time and I was only there for about an hour at the max on Saturday morning. I did however manage to spend a little money, these are my purchases which I am very happy with I might add. I have some lovely patterns for ribbon embroidery and other embroidery I have wanted to use to make these type of pin cushions BUT I will not put pins in them, I want them for "show" only. I purchased two different types, I would have like larger sizes of the ones with the feet however they sold out of the larger sizes on Friday and the couple selling them come from Toowoomba. I took one of their business cards and the lovely gentleman who makes all the wooden craft items said he would make them to any measurement I wanted, uuummm...... I shall have to look into this further.

ANOTHER FINISH FOR JULY

I really enjoy crocheting, in particular blankets for family and friends, this one is for my friends first grand child due mid August, you will notice in my last couple of posts my finishes have been for my friends grand daughter. Casey and I have been friends for over 30 years and she was always wonderful and kind to my children, of course I know her son very well, I have known him since he was about 6, I have not met his wife and will probably not meet his baby girl so I am going to make several things and give them a big, one of parcel.

This is a close up of the pattern, it's very easy and quick, I have made several blankets using this pattern and I have also adapted it into triangles for males.

Have a lovely week.

QUEENSLANDER QUEENSLANDER

I am always a proud QUEENSLANDER and WOW how happy are we today !!!! The MIGHTY MAROONS have done it again, they have now won 6 consecutive series, an absolute LEGEND team and so wonderful for Darren Lockyer to exit the MAROONS on a great win.

We take our State of Origin very seriously at work, this is our group photo yesterday with one Blues supporter and might I add he is very sad today.

I just want to end by saying this to the MAROONS - You're simply the best, better than all the rest, better than NEW SOUTH WALES, better than ANYONE..... GO QUEENSLAND....
WOOHOO WOOHOO !!!!!
